About Us

Our guild is a chapter of a larger community sharing a passion for modern quilting: The Modern Quilt Guild. The MQG was started in Los Angeles, California in 2009 and now has more than 150 chapters around the world. Our branch was started in 2012 by Cinzia Allocca and Josée Carrier as they wanted to be part of this community both online and locally with people from the Montreal, QC area.

MQG Mission Statement:
Our mission is to foster the development of modern quilting and to contribute to the growth of our quilting heritage. We provide opportunities for quilters with all levels of experience to explore the topics, techniques and aesthetics which are particular to modern quilting. Education and support will be provided through fellowship, challenges, workshops and community outreach. If you want to know to more about modern quilting and the Modern Quilt Guild at large, we encourage you to visit the Modern Quilt Guild blog.
